Combustible, flammable, hazardous and toxic materials are not permitted in your storage unit. Fireworks, weapons of any kind and explosives are also not safe to store in storage units and we do not allow them.

Considered "inherently dangerous," these include gasoline, compressed gas, propane tanks, kerosene, lamp and motor oil, acid, grease, corrosives, fertilizer, paint, cleaners, chemicals, narcotics, or hazardous, toxic or biological waste. Asbestos or products containing asbestos are not allowed.

Any of these materials are dangerous and are not allowed to be stored in your unit. Fireworks, explosives or weapons are also not allowed.

Storing vehicles is generally accepted, as long as the vehicle is in working condition and is fully insured. We permit storing up to four tires in your storage unit.

Storing vehicles is generally acceptable, if they are registered, insured and in operational condition. You can not store more than four tires in your self-storage unit because of the cost to dispose of them should there be a need on the part of Camlachie Storage.

Please note that proof of insurance will need to be provided upon signing of your storage lease.

Storing some medial supplies and equipment in your storage unit is an effective way to keep your items organized, however, please note that anything radioactive cannot legally be stored in your storage unit.

If you are a sales representative, you may find a self-storage unit a convenient place to manage medical supplies and pharmaceutical samples. It is a useful way to keep your products organized and easily accessible without cluttering up your office or filling your car trunk.

While most supplies are acceptable, radioactive equipment - or anything that contains radioactive materials - cannot legally be stored. If you are unsure about a certain item our facility manager will be able to answer all your questions.

We do allow for some construction equipment to be stored within your unit, but please check with us before you do, as some construction equipment is legally not allowed to be stored. Our friendly staff can inform you which construction equipment can be safely stored in our storage units.

However, please check with the us before planning to store any construction equipment. Some equipment; equipment used to locate underground water, is prohibited. For a full list of construction equipment that is allowed contact our facility manager.

Any non-perishable food items may be stored in your units. Please do not store any perishable items in your storage unit.

Examples of perishable items include:

  • Produce
  • Cereal
  • Meats
  • Dairy products

Generally, we suggest to not store any food items or items that may mold easily as this can contaminate other items you are storing.

Animals, living or deceased, cannot be stored in your storage unit. Plugged in appliances are also prohibited, as is using your storage unit for a living space. If you have questions about a specific use case for your storage unit, or about specific items you wish to store, please contact our staff prior to doing so.

Your Camlachie Storage unit is a place where you can store your belongings short-term or long-term. If you have any questions about what you are allowed and are not allowed to store in your unit please contact our facility manager.
